John Walker has been the head coach at the University of Nebraska for 14 years and during that time he has developed the program into a perennial National Championship contender. His teams have made the NCAA Tournament 10 times with eight Sweet Sixteen appearances. At one point, the Huskers finished in the top 15 in the nation seven straight times. Walker has also helped Husker players compete at the international level. Over the past several seasons, the Husker team has placed 20 players on the national team as well as seven players on WUSA rosters. Walker is also a staff coach for Canadian Football Association.
