Coaching successful teams that are readily able to score goals doesn't happen by accident. It takes a lot of repetition, and the right type of practice. Lining players up for a shooting session won't turn your team into a goalscoring machine or give your players the confidence to create and take goalscoring chances in game situations. In order to develop a high scoring team, your shooting and finishing type sessions should recreate game-like situations.
Scoring goals and winning games are trademarks of Randy Waldrum's teams. In this DVD, Waldrum shares some of the competitive drills and exercises he uses to train his University of Notre Dame Women's Teams. These functional drills and exercises are set in competitive environments that are active and fast moving where players will learn and practice the art of scoring goals in game-like situations.
Competitive Finishing Exercises was filmed at the Nebraska WORLD CLASS COACHING International Coaching Seminar and includes the complete session from start to finish.
Randy Waldrum is the Head Coach of the University of Notre Dame Women's Team. From 1999 - 2010, he guided them to the NCAA semi finals eight times, including a National Championship in 2004 and three runner-up finishes. Waldrum has held a position on the U.S. National Team coaching staff since 1992 and in 2009, served as President for the 28,000-member National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
